On Monday, March 5, at 7:30 pm at Maplewood Memorial Library, 51 Baker Street, Maplewood, the Maplewood Garden Club hosts Tedor Whitman, Executive Director of the Cora Hartshorn Arboretum and Bird Sanctuary in Short Hills. One of Tedor’s favorite topics is birds, birding, and conservation; and during his presentation, “Birding for All Seasons in New Jersey,” he will explain why New Jersey’s geographical location along the Atlantic Flyway makes it one of the best places in the US to go birding year-round. Tedor hopes to encourage all of us to take up this fascinating pursuit, even if it is only part-time, because he believes that the more you know about birding, the more you learn about environmental stewardship.
