• The South Orange Gazebo on May 5th and May 6th will have some wonderful jazz events almost ever hour of the 24 hours. • The Spiotta Park May 5th day includes participatory events such as a Drum Circle, an R&B Jam, and Karaoke Event and a Live DJ Dance Party in Spiotta Park plus other live music acts in-between all day up till midnight. • On May 6th there will also be a jazz and popular tunes breakfast performance in front of the Village Dinner starting 9 am and early morning Blues Music performances 10 am - noon. | ||

Ever wonder why some rhododendrons and azaleas look so great while others do not seem to flourish? Find out more about the various cultivars and how they can add dramatic beauty to your garden on May 7 at 7:30 pm at Maplewood Memorial Library, 51 Baker Street, Maplewood, when the Maplewood Garden Club hosts Marc Zukovich. Marc teaches classes in horticulture as an adjunct professor at County College of Morris, and has made a career in the gardening business. During his presentation, “Azaleas and Rhododendrons: Selection, Planting, and Care,” Marc will explain how to purchase the right varieties for your garden and how to plant them correctly. This South Orange Village Center Alliance event contains lots of live music all day at the South Orange Gazebo, Spiotta Park, Pop Up Street Corner Live Music Spots during the day along with other indoor and outdoor locations around South Orange.

Maplewood Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony

Parade kicks off at 9:00 am from the CHS Student Parking Lot. Parade route is West Parker Avenue to Maplewood Avenue to Baker Street to Valley Street, to Maplewood Town Hall. Memorial Day Ceremony on the steps of Town Hall immediately follows the parade. Seniors who wish to be in the parade are invited to march under the SOMA Two Towns For All Ages Banner. Seniors who wish to be in the parade but who are unable to walk the parade route are invited to drive their own cars. Anyone wishing to do this should let us know the number of available seats in your vehicle so rides can be provided for Veterans, and other Seniors who need a ride in the parade. call 973-762-8120 x4005
