Presentation will be on “Assistive Technology for Independence” with Dr. Brian Friedlander, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Education at College of St. Elizabeth, AssistiveTek, LLC. Dr. Friedlander will discuss how assistive technology can increase independence at home, in school, and at work with the help of tools including the Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Dot Show, and Amazon’s Alexa. He will provide demonstrations on how this new assistive technology can assist those with various impairments, how it can handle thousands of skills including home automation for lights, thermostat, and security, and motion, and how it can enable caregivers to check-in and speak with their loved ones remotely. This is a topic that can benefit ALL caregivers so try to be there!
