Fitness at The Baird

Come take a class with our fabulous fitness instructor, Robin Weber. Robin holds certifications as a Group Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer and is LVCYT Chair Yoga Certified. She also maintains special interest certifications in Body Toning and Conditioning and Active Older Adults. She has worked in the health and fitness area for over 20 years and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to her classes! The following classes with Robin are scheduled this winter. Mondays, 9:15 am, January 7-March 25 (No class Jan 21, Feb 18)
Fridays, 9:15 am, January 11-March 22 (No class Jan. 25).
Fee: $110* for 10 classes
The Total Body Circuit class is a great option for those who are relatively fit and looking for a new experience in exercise AND for those just getting started in an exercise routine. The circuit allows participants to exercise independently, within a group but at their own pace. The class includes separate exercise stations. Each station is a different exercise designed to work all muscle groups by the end of the circuit, keeping exercise interesting, invigorating, and fun!

Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that is practiced while sitting in a chair. It adapts traditional yoga poses so that they can be done making yoga more accessible for people who cannot stand for long periods. As in traditional yoga class, chair yoga helps to deepen flexibility, strengthen personal body awareness, and improve physical and mental fitness. It has helped people with symptoms of health issues such as hypertension, anxiety, fatigue, the general effects of aging as well as those living with and recovering from illness. As with all fitness classes, participants may want to consult their physician when starting a new exercise routine.

Fee $60 for 10 classes
In this senior fitness class at The Baird, participants will work on increasing flexibility and strength, improving balance and posture, reducing stress. Using soft fitness balls, light weights and resistance bands, participants work through a variety of exercises which focus on improving overall stamina and well being. Both standing and seated positions are used and all exercises can be modified to accommodate personal limitations.
