New Art Classes:
Life Drawing in Line and Form
Life Drawing in Line and Form: Working from a live model, explore the movement, proportions and anatomical details of the human body in chalk, line, and shadow. Students will learn proportion, anatomy and simple shading to achieve a final more "finished" drawing by the end of the course.
The class will be taught by Lyman Dally, commercial illustrator, fine arts painter, teacher (and former fitness trainer!) who will guide the class in seeing not only what is visible on the model, but what lies in the shadows and beneath the skin.
There will be a $60 model fee due to the teacher on the first day of class. Students should bring their own materials: drawing board, paper, soft pencil, black chalk/pastels, kneaded erasers and a soft rag.
Morning Arts and Crafts with Rachel
Enjoy a relaxing time with your friends making projects using a variety of easy crafts techniques. At each of our meetings this spring we’ll explore a different artistic medium. We’ll mosaic flower pots in the Pique Assiette technique, make handmade paper, and make paper cut art. Come join in the fun for one or all of our sessions. Rachel Asarnow is an artist living in New Jersey. She has been an artist her whole life and studied art as an undergraduate at Brandeis University. She is a current recipient of a Folk Arts Apprenticeship Grant from the NJ State Council on the Arts and has had the opportunity to apprentice with the Jewish papercut artist Deborah Ugoretz. She also teaches and works in fiber arts, drawing, painting and mosaics, and organic gardening. Adult Class.
